DMCA & Copyright

Streameow is a media player — it hosts no channels, movies or series of its own. This page explains how to send a copyright or DMCA takedown notice for anything we genuinely control, and where complaints about a stream you saw should really go.

Section 1Streameow hosts no content

Streameow is a cross-platform media player for your phone, desktop and Smart TV. It lets you play your own streaming subscription — live TV, movies and series — by adding a playlist you obtained from your own licensed provider.

We do not provide, sell, host, store, broadcast or transmit any channels, content, media or playlists. Streameow ships empty. Every stream you see in the app comes from a playlist you added, served by your provider's servers — not by Streameow.

Because we store no media, there is generally nothing on our systems to remove in response to a content complaint. The limited account data we do hold is your email, license key, device identifier and the playlist URL you saved.

That said, Streameow respects the rights of copyright holders and complies with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA, 17 U.S.C. § 512) and comparable laws. We respond to properly submitted notices about material we actually control — for example text, images or media published on our own website or marketing.

Section 2Channel, movie & series complaints

This is the most common case, so please read it first. If your complaint is about a specific channel, live event, movie or series that someone is watching in the app, that material is delivered by the user's own playlist provider — not by Streameow.

Streameow has no ability to add, edit, block, label or remove any individual channel or title inside a user's playlist. We cannot disable a stream we never hosted and cannot see. Sending us that complaint will not take the stream offline.

To have infringing content actually removed, please contact:

  • the provider or service that issued the playlist or subscription to the user;
  • the host, server or CDN that serves the stream URL (look up the domain in the playlist link); and / or
  • that host's own designated copyright agent or abuse contact.

If you are not sure who hosts a stream, a domain WHOIS or hosting lookup of the URL is usually the fastest route to the right party.

Section 3Filing a takedown notice

If you believe material that Streameow controls (such as content on streameow.com) infringes a copyright you own or are authorized to represent, send a written notice to our designated agent (Section 4). Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3) a valid notice must include all of the following:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (or a representative list, if multiple works).
  3. Identification of the infringing material and information reasonably sufficient to let us locate it — ideally the exact URL(s) on a Streameow property.
  4. Your contact information: full name, mailing address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or are authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

We aim to acknowledge complete notices within 2–5 business days and to act on valid ones promptly. Incomplete notices may delay or prevent action. Please direct complaints about playlist streams to the relevant provider instead (see Section 2).

Section 4Designated copyright agent

Notices and counter-notices may be sent to Streameow's designated agent for receiving claims of copyright infringement:

AttnCopyright Agent, Streameow

Support[email protected]  or on-site chat
Mailing addressAvailable on request to the email above.

Please write "DMCA Notice" or "Copyright Counter-Notice" in the subject line so it reaches the right team quickly. This contact is for copyright matters only; general questions should go to support or our on-site chat.

Section 5Counter-notification

If material you posted to a Streameow property was removed or disabled and you believe it was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to our designated agent. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g) it must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, mailing address and telephone number, a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if outside the U.S., any district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice.

On receipt of a valid counter-notice we may restore the removed material in 10–14 business days, unless our designated agent first receives notice that the original complainant has filed a court action to restrain the activity.

Section 6Repeat-infringer policy

In appropriate circumstances, and at our discretion, Streameow will suspend or terminate the accounts and device licenses of users who are determined to be repeat infringers.

Because Streameow hosts no content, this generally takes the form of disabling an account or the license keys tied to it. While device licenses are normally a one-time, lifetime purchase, termination for repeat infringement (or other abuse described in our Terms) is an exception to that lifetime grant, and such terminations are not eligible for a refund.

Section 7Good faith & misrepresentation

Please file honestly. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages — including costs and attorneys' fees — incurred by the alleged infringer, the copyright owner or Streameow.

If you are unsure whether something is genuinely infringing, or whether Streameow is even the right party (see Section 2), consider seeking legal advice before submitting a notice. Nothing on this page is legal advice.

Section 8Changes & contact

We may update this DMCA & Copyright policy from time to time to reflect changes in our service or the law. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here, so please check back periodically.

Questions about this policy that are not copyright notices can go to [email protected] or our on-site chat. For related terms, see our Terms, Privacy Policy and Disclaimer.
