Who we are
Streameow ("Streameow", "we", "us" or "our") provides a cross-platform media player for phones, tablets, desktop computers and Smart TVs. The app lets you load your own playlist and watch your own live TV, movies & series. We do not provide, sell, host or include any channels, content, media or playlists — you add your own from a provider you already have a relationship with.
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use our apps and website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. If anything here is unclear, please contact us — we're happy to explain.
The short version
What you actually need to know
We collect the bare minimum to run your licence: your email, your licence key, the device ID of each activated device, and the playlist URL you choose to add. Payments are handled entirely by Paddle — we never see or store your card details. We keep some basic technical logs to keep the service secure and reliable. We do not sell your data, and you can ask us to access or delete it at any time.
What data we collect & why
We only collect what we need to deliver a one-time lifetime licence, run your free trial, and keep the service working. Here is everything we hold, the reason we hold it, and our lawful basis for doing so under data-protection law (such as the GDPR).
| Data | Why we collect it | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | To send your licence key, identify your account, handle activation and trial reminders, and reply to support requests. | Performance of a contract; legitimate interests |
| Licence key | To issue, validate and manage your one-time lifetime licence and the number of devices it covers. | Performance of a contract |
| Device ID | To activate the player on a specific device, enforce the per-device licence limit, and run the 7-day free trial fairly. | Performance of a contract; legitimate interests |
| Playlist URL | To load the playlist you choose into the player so it can display your own live TV, movies & series. We do not inspect, resell or share its contents. | Performance of a contract |
| Basic technical logs | IP address, approximate region, device/app version, timestamps and error reports — used to secure the service, prevent abuse, and fix bugs. | Legitimate interests |
| Support messages | The content of your on-site chat or email so we can help you and keep a record of the conversation. | Legitimate interests |
We do not ask for, and have no need for, sensitive personal data. Please don't send us information we haven't asked for.
How we use your information
We use the data above only for clear, limited purposes:
- To deliver your licence — issuing your key, starting your free trial, and activating Streameow on your devices.
- To run the player — loading the playlist URL you added so the app can play your own channels, movies & series.
- To support you — answering questions over on-site chat and email, and recovering access to your account.
- To keep things secure — detecting fraud and abuse, enforcing per-device limits, and protecting the service.
- To improve Streameow — diagnosing errors and understanding which features need attention, using aggregated, non-identifying signals where possible.
- To meet legal obligations — such as keeping the records required for tax and accounting.
We do not use your data for advertising profiling, and we do not make automated decisions that produce legal effects about you.
Payments are handled by Paddle
Streameow uses Paddle as our payment processor and merchant of record. When you buy a lifetime licence, your payment details are entered directly with Paddle on their secure checkout. We never see, receive or store your full card number, CVC or banking details.
Paddle shares with us only what we need to fulfil your order — for example a confirmation that payment succeeded, the plan you bought, your email, and an order reference. Paddle processes your payment data as an independent controller under its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to read at paddle.com/legal/privacy.
We never sell your data
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to anyone, and we never share it with advertisers or data brokers. The only parties that ever touch your data are the service providers who help us run Streameow (listed below), and only to the extent they need it to do their job on our behalf.
Cookies
Our website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies — mainly to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising.
For the full list, what each cookie does, and how to control them, please see our Cookie Policy.
Who we share data with
We share data only with trusted providers ("processors") who help us operate the service, under contracts that require them to protect it:
- Paddle — payment processing and order fulfilment.
- Hosting & infrastructure providers — to run our licensing service and store account data securely.
- Email & support tools — to send your licence key and operate our on-site chat and email support.
We may also disclose data if we are legally required to do so, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a business transfer (for example a merger), in which case we'll ensure your data stays protected under this policy.
How long we keep your data
We keep your data only for as long as we need it. Because your licence is a one-time lifetime purchase, we retain your account details (email, licence key and activated device IDs) for as long as the licence is active, so we can keep validating it and help you if you reinstall or change devices.
- Account & licence data — kept for the life of the licence; deleted on request once it is no longer needed to operate it.
- Playlist URL — kept while it is saved to your account; removed when you delete it or close your account.
- Technical logs — typically kept for a short rolling period (around 30–90 days) for security and debugging, then deleted or anonymised.
- Payment & invoice records — retained as long as required by tax and accounting law.
How we protect your data
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep your data safe — including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls that limit who can see your data, and storing licence and account data on reputable, secured infrastructure. No system is ever perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to keep what we collect to a minimum.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data, including the right to:
- Access — get a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectify — correct data that is wrong or out of date.
- Delete — ask us to erase your data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to records we must keep by law.
- Port — receive your data in a portable format.
- Object or restrict — object to certain processing, or ask us to limit it.
- Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these, just contact us using the details below. We'll respond within the timeframes required by law (usually within 30 days). You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
International transfers
Streameow and our providers may process data in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal data across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as standard contractual clauses or providers certified under recognised frameworks — to make sure your data stays protected to the standard described in this policy.
Children
Streameow is not directed at children and is intended for adults who manage their own streaming subscription. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example if we add a feature or change a provider. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we'll give you reasonable notice. Please check back occasionally.
